I just got Nate up from his non-nap. After a morning full of activity, from playing at the park with friends to meeting Brad for lunch and quick shopping, Nate was exhausted. About 2 miles from the house, I noticed he was almost asleep in the carseat. The problem was he needed a diaper change because it had been 3 1/2 hours since his previous one. I quickly went into full mommy action and began to point out anything in sight and ask him all kinds of random questions. Anything to keep him awake for 2 more miles and 1 diaper change. I was relieved to pull into the driveway and see his eyes were heavy but open. I quickly released him from carseat captivity and took him straight to his room. His diaper was dry. Seriously?!?!? 3 1/2 hours and plenty of water later?!?!?!? Alright, just lie him in his crib and wish him a good nap. The exhausted, fighting sleep, must be kept awake child never went to sleep. After all my efforts to ensure a perfect nap after a tiring morning, nothing. Crazy as it sounds, he’s in a great mood after his non-nap. I wish I could say the same for myself. I was really counting on a nap after running around all morning. Guess he can go to bed a half hour early tonight. I’m sure he’ll be ready for some sleep by then. (To top it off his diaper was more than wet by the time I let him get out of his crib. Go figure!)
I’ve been lacking in the picture department lately. I’ll see what I can do this afternoon. We’ll see if he’s gotten over hiding his face from the camera. . .
