family fun fridays – zoo!!!

Standard

friday we decided we would put our soon expiring zoo pass to use.  we of course have our new season pass already in hand, but we wanted to get a little more use out of the old one.  we only made it to the zoo as a family once last summer even though i went a few times and the kids several times.  it was a lot of fun to see how much more comfortable nate is becoming with different things at the zoo that use to make him nervous.  he use to hate the aquarium because of having to walk under the sharks in the tunnel – friday we sat in the tunnel for 10-15 minutes watching them swim all around us.  he also use to not even want to look at the snakes – friday i heard him exclaim, “coooool!  a huge snake!”   we had a pretty limited time span between when we got there and when we needed to leave for naptime so picture taking was very minimal.  we’re definitely looking forward to going again soon though!

it’s hard to believe nate’s preschool days are coming to a quick close!  last thursday he sang in chapel, and it was adorable as always.  i have loved being blessed with the opportunity to send him to preschool.

since laurel hates nursing under the cover, i snuck out to go feed her in the mother’s room because i figured nate was done singing, and i wouldn’t miss too much.  apparently right after i headed out he got called up to the front to answer some questions.  go figure.  luckily brad was manning the camera that day, and i got to hear about it and see pictures.

playdate full of cousins

Standard

when chatting with brad’s sister, ann, after worship yesterday morning, i learned she and the kids are on spring break this week.  i was super excited to hear this because it had been since christmas day since we’d had them over to play.  (way too long since they live a whole 7 minutes away!)  today was the day which worked best for both her and i so we gave it a shot.  after about 20 minutes of total mom-clinging shyness, the triplets came out of their shells, and we had a good time playing.  it was going so well that after playing in the living room, then the basement, we decided to extend and throw in lunch.  after lunch nate was wanting everyone to go outside – so we did.  naptime snuck up on us way to fast, but with evening plans it’s a must have today.  we look forward to hopefully many more of these playdates this summer when ann is out of school!

and with that last shot – i think we’re gonna head to nap!
